Written by Gayle on November 22, 2010 from mt. laurel, new jersey, US You have to know you are caught in a scam when one of the first options when you call their 800 # is to discontinue your service. Then when you ask for customer service the first choice is cancel your service. They may as well answer they phone "Hello, you have reached Shoppers Discount Scam, how may I help you?" |
2. Written by Kim on October 17, 2010 from phoenix, arizona, US I just found the same $12 charge on our checking account...sadly after researching it's been happening for 32 months. We aren't even sure how it started and I can't get a hold of a person at shopperdiscount because it's a Sunday. It's been charged through my husband's debit card. Always read your statements carefully and consult with your spouse to avoid this!!! We will be fighting to get that money back!
3. Written by pissed law student on July 23, 2010 from cleveland, ohio, US i noticed the same $12 charge that appeared 3 months in a row. my bank gave me shopper discount's 800 number. when i called to cancel, the automated system asked for my credit card number. i didn't put it in since that is probably just another scam they have going. i pressed zero a few times. a pleasant woman told me that i "authorized" this charge when i purchased text books from biggerbooks.com. i never signed up for any shopper discounts service when i bought my law books. the woman said that since i entered my email address twice when i purchased the books, that counted as an electronic signature. they used the credit card number from my text book purchase. obviously this is a separate transaction and therefore is not legal. another year in law school and they would have had a lawyer on their hands. i would love my first case as a lawyer to be a class action. due to the untruthworthiness of biggerbooks.com, i recommend not using that website. who knows who else they are slipping your credit card number to.

5. Written by Stan on May 24, 2010 from rialto, california, US I just looked over my bank statement and found a charge of $12 to "Shopper Discounts 800-8898776" just like the complaint posted above. Apparently I became a member without knowing, when I placed an online order from Pizza Hut. I'm suprised I didn't notice any previous charges on my bank account. My account was charged 16 times ($192). The rep told me he had the authority to credit me with 4 of the charges, but I would have to complete a refund request form to receive a complete refund. People beware of "Pizza Hut bearing gifts".
6. Written by Aaren on May 10, 2010 from green bay, wisconsin, US They got me for 4 months... I just called and they said they would refund everything and they werent shocked at this or anything. They said "We do try to be open with our charges when you sign up so I'm sorry about the confusion" She sounded like a robot when she spoke to me. I'm like, I never used your website or whatever it is, I want it ALL back. And she said "ok, you can expect it in 2-3 days" I'm just in shock! How are companies letting them do this? I'm never ordering from Pizza Hut again!
7. Written by Mike on March 7, 2010 from bismarck, north dakota, US ProFlowers got me on my Valentines day purchase, so I have written Shopper Discounts a nasty-gram to cease and desist and refund the money they with-held. I can't believe I missed it last month as I am kind of cautious with my checking account, but I didn't notice it till this month,so they managed to nail me for two months. If they do not refund the money with-held, I will never order a thing from ProFlowers again. ![]()
8. Written by Aggrivated! on January 23, 2010 from parker, colorado, US What's happens- apparently if you order something online, and after a pop-up comes up and asks if you want to save $10 on ur next purchase, if you hit yes they some how automatically get ur debit/credit card info. I'm so pissed, I called the 800 number that showed up on my bank statement and it wasn't the right one. I then called 800-889-8776 and was able to cancle it. I cannot believe that something like this is even possible!
